Mor of Glan October 2005

In Mae's kitchen October 2005, and the view from the bottom of the lane that we all remember so well. It was a very sad occasion but held so many lovely memories of Mae and Jim

Eilis being taught how to fence by Donal. They do have body armour, just not sure where it was this time - in the bag on the couch I think.

Gaels Win Cup Again

On Saturday the DC Gaels won the Commodore Barry Cup (named for John Barry of Tacumshane, County Wexford, Ireland, who rose the rank of Commodore in the U.S. Navy during the Revolution and is considered the Father of the U.S. Navy) again this year. Defeating the Philadelphia Shamrocks 4-14; 2-4, our 2nd win over the Shamrocks this season. I played Left Half Back. This Labor Day Weekend we will defend our 2006 North American Championship at the NACB Championship Tournament in Chicago.

The Dolan Clan

Kevin Meets Sam and Liam

This year’s Smithsonian Institution’s Annual Folk Life Festival, featured Northern Ireland as one of the cultures in this year’s program. the Ulster GAA brought the All-Ireland Cups, Sam Maguire (Football) and Liam McCarthy (Hurling) to Washington, D.C. as part of it’s Gaelic Sports program at the festival. I got to see “Sam & Liam” at the Gaels' (www.wdcgaels.com) reception welcoming the Ulster GAA to D.C. . During the Festival we held played Camogie and Hurling demonstration games on the Mall grounds.
